Model packs in standalone mode for POD xtPro

Hi there,

I have a question about POD xt Pro and model packs. At this time I'm using a UX1 with metal shop and PodFarm. I'm looking forward to buy a rack gear for using it as amp on stage or on studio without the need of my laptop.

The point is : if I buy a POD Xt Pro and I register the metal shop for using with it in my Line6 account, will I be able to shape a sound with Podfarm on my laptop (like a Deity), load it into my POD xtPro and use it on stage without the need of the computer ? I mean, does the POD xtPro work as a standalone unit as soon as the concerned liscences are registered on my Line6 account ?

Second thing : I red nowhere POD xtPro can manage dualtone feature. If I create a dualtone preset using PodFarm on my laptop, will I be able to load it in my xt Pro for a standalone use ?

(for "standalone use" I mean using the POD xtPro as a preamp in front of a poweramp on stage or into the mixing desk on studio)

Thanks guys, I like the POD X3 but I've already my metalshop and I don't want it to be useless...

Re: Model packs in standalone mode for POD xtPro

If you register Metal Shop to the Podxt Pro then of course you can use it. However to use it in UX1 i think you'll have to unregister it from the Pod and re-register it to the UX1. Not sure about that - anyone have any experience?

No you cannot use dual tones in a Podxt Pro, that's why there's an X3.

RE: Model packs in standalone mode for POD xtPro

Hello, If you buy Metal Shop for your POD XT Pro then you will indeed be able to use it in Live situations. You'll also be able to transfer the pack back and forth between the POD and TonePort as needed. Check out this FAQ for more information on that. http://line6.com/community/docs/DOC-4738 Please let me know if this answer is helpful. Thanks. Line6Miller
