I get this message every time I open a Project in Logic Pro 9.0.1 that uses Pod Farm Platinum plugin with a Toneport DI (used only as a dongle).
It's been happening since Logic 8.0.2 and from OS 10.4.9 thru 10.5.8.
It's happened the entire time I've had the PodFarm / Toneport DI combo
I hit play and notice all my guitar and bass sounds are dry (no podfarm sound).
So, I open one of the Podfarm plugins and this message is plastered over the plugin interface.
Also, at the bottom of the plugin interface is this:
I've searched the Forum and tried a different USB cable and every USB port (5) on my computer with nothing plugged in but keyboard and mouse...and it's still the same.
What is very interesting, is that disabling Core Audio in Logic and then re-enabling it fixes the problem every time.
This makes me think it's not a USB overload (too much USB stuff hanging out of your computer) or a faulty USB cable or USB port (I've tried them all).
Something about disabling and then re-enabling Core Audio fixes it for me.
I'm glad i have a workaround, but it is a Major Drag to have to wait for Logic to load everything twice.
Does anyone, especially LINE6, have any insight into what I'm finding with the Core Audio thing?
Pod Farm: 1.11
Driver: 4.2.4
USB Firmware: 1.0.2
Line 6 Monkey: 1.30
Mac Pro 2x 2.66 GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon with 5 GB RAM, OS X 10.5.8,
Logic Pro 9.0.1 & Logic Pro 8.0.2, RME FireFace 400, UAD-1 PCIe & UAD-2 duo
i have the exact same problem since moving to Logic 9.02. have also tried different USB cords/ports. will try that work around.
does it seem to you that Podfarm went crazy since the 10.5.8 update? that is when I started having all kinds of problems.
BTW, just realized that when you see this post on the board, it says it was "possibly answered." maybe that's why the LIne 6 folks never seem to respond to these threads.
This is really the only problem I have with Pod Farm.
Now that you mention it, it did seem more intermittent earlier on around OS 10.4.9 and Logic Pro 8.0.2.
I'm not exactly sure when intermittent became constant as I moved progressively up to OS 10.5.8 and Logic Pro 9.0.2.
Since the disable / re-enable Core Audio thing worked every time, I just figured it was an annoying bug that LINE 6 would fix SOON.
Maybe there's something about disabling and then re-enabling Core Audio that causes the system to re-scan the USB ports and that somehow corrects it. I don't know.
LINE 6......Any thoughts?
I have never been able to reproduce this. Believe me I've tried and tried.
Currently, I'm running on a dual boot (Leopard and SL) Macbook Pro. I have Logic 8.0.2 installed with a TonePort DI plugged into the right USB and an MBox 2 plugged into the right USB.
I authorized the POD Farm plug in with Line 6 Monkey and then launched Logic which scanned the POD Farm plug in fine, created a new session, created a new audio track and inserted an instance of the POD Farm plug in which was authorized.
I then saved my session and closed Logic, relaunched Logic and brought that session back up. Pulled up the same POD Farm instance and it was still authorized.
These sorts of problems have been very elusive to us mainly because we have not been able to reproduce them.
Does this happen when your other audio interface is not connected?

To Line6Miller,
I can't say. I only use the Toneport as a dongle and use the FireFace 400(FW 400 cable) for monitoring and inputting into Logic.
The only thing different between your steps to reproduce and mine is shutting down the computer.
I always shutdown when I'm finished.
So, firing up Logic is coming from a fresh computer startup instead of relaunching Logic on an already booted machine.
I'm not sure if it makes a difference, but it might.
Below are your steps with the exception of step 6.
Could you try these steps and see what you get?
I appreciate your help and concern.
1. Authorize the POD Farm plug in with Line 6 Monkey.
2. Launch Logic which scans the POD Farm plug.
3. Create a new session, create a new audio track and insert an instance of the POD Farm plug in which is authorized.
4. Save the session.
5. Close Logic.
6. Shut down (not re-start) and then turn on the computer.
7. Launch Logic.
8. Bring that session back up.
9. Pull up the same POD Farm instance.
10. Is everything OK?
Hello,
I will certainly try these steps and let you know what I come up with. At this point, let's get a support ticket going for you so we can continue to troubleshoot this one on one.
Q: What is a support ticket?
A: A support ticket allows you to directly correspond with a Line 6 Support Representative. An email will be sent to you from Line 6 containing a link if a Line 6 support representative determines that a ticket is necessary to troubleshoot your issue. Please follow the link in the email to view your open ticket to work one on one with Line 6 Support.
Please note: Sometimes support tickets will be filtered to spam and junk folders. If you did not receive an email from us indicating that a ticket has been created, please make sure to check those folders in your email host.

I completed the Support Ticket and look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks
I've also tried uninstalling and then re-installing PodFarm, drivers and Monkey.
Still the same.
Hello Henry,
I'm going to raise this issue to our QA department and see if we can run some more tests and try to replicate it. I'll keep you posted. Thanks.
Rick

Just wanted to add my $.02 in on this... I have this happen with my Toneport UX8 on the Mac. At one point I had a Pod XT Live installed on my Mac as well. Could having multiple units, one authorized for Pod Farm, one not authorized for Pod Farm affect how Pod Farm starts?
Not sure about multiple units.
I only use the Toneport DI as a dongle.
